Privacy Policy

Francis Power Pty Ltd (ABN 26 694 678 692), Unit 89, 15-19 Edgehill Ave, Botany NSW 2019, Australia, operates francis-power.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy. While small businesses can be exempt from parts of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), we choose to handle personal information in line with that Act and the Australian Privacy Principles.

• Contact details — your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
• Account information — your email and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in a readable form.
• Order information — what you bought, order totals, delivery notes and order history.
• Payment information — for bank transfers we see the payment that arrives in our account. For card payments, your card number and security code are checked in your browser and are never sent to us; we keep only the card type and the last four digits so we can identify the payment.
• Technical information — a session cookie that keeps you signed in, plus standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) used to keep the site running and secure.
• Correspondence — messages you send us about orders, delivery or products.

Most information comes directly from you — when you create an account, place an order, or contact us. Technical information is collected automatically by our web server when you browse the site. We do not buy personal information from third parties.

• To process and deliver your orders, and to contact you about them.
• To provide your account, order history and invoices.
• To answer your enquiries and provide after-sales support and warranty service.
• To send marketing emails, only where you have opted in — every one includes an unsubscribe link.
• To improve our range, pricing and website.
• To prevent fraud and to meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.

We only share what is needed, and only with:

• Delivery and freight companies, so they can deliver your order and contact you about a delivery window.
• Suppliers, where an item ships directly from the manufacturer or their warehouse.
• Our bank and payment providers, to receive and reconcile payments.
• IT and hosting providers who operate our servers and email under confidentiality obligations.
• Professional advisers and government agencies, where we are required or authorised by law.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Some providers may store data on servers outside Australia; where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy and Australian privacy standards.

We use a small number of first-party cookies: one to keep you signed in to your account, and one to remember your cart. We do not use them to build advertising profiles. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in or check out without them.

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored as salted hashes, and access to order data is limited to staff who need it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep order and tax records for at least seven years as required by Australian law, and we delete or de-identify other personal information once it is no longer needed.

You can view and update your name, phone number and address at any time in your account. To request access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete an account, email contact@francis-power.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within a reasonable time — usually within 30 days.

We only send promotional email to people who have opted in. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing us. Transactional messages about an order you have placed are not marketing and will still be sent.

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first — we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
